Attorney Susan Reutter

Susan is an attorney who focuses on labor and employment law.  She has approximately 17 years of federal service, with a focus on federal personnel law at various federal agencies.

During Susan’s career as a public servant, she developed an expertise in the statutory and regulatory underpinnings of federal employment law, especially as they relate to Title V and Stafford Act employees. She is especially proficient in reviewing and litigating adverse actions, along with reviewing suitability and fitness determinations/actions and security clearance denials, suspensions, and revocations. She has litigated cases before administrative third parties, including the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB) and she has represented agencies in matters before the Office of Special Counsel (OSC). Additionally, she has worked Unfair Labor Practices (ULP) cases, represented senior executives in labor grievances, and has significant experience mediating labor disputes. In one instance, a mediator personally thanked her for my efforts in resolving the case at hand, declaring to the parties that her strategic approach helped the parties find a resolution that provided all parties with their needs and prevented a long and unnecessary litigation path. Moreover, she has reviewed countless policies for legal sufficiency. Furthermore, she has ample experience at the negotiation table, where she is capable of representing clients in traditional and interest-based settings.

Susan is licensed to practice law in Maryland and Virginia.  Susan also enjoys reading and spending time with her family, which currently involves regularly cheering on her boys at taekwondo tournaments around the country.
