Attorney Kayleen Hansen

Kayleen has extensive experience with client counseling and litigating cases. She is primarily conversant in negligence cases, but also has experience litigating subrogation cases. Kayleen believes that her duty to the client is to make the process as clear as possible while reaching the best possible solution without excess conflict or cost.

Kayleen began her work as a litigator practicing in personal injury litigation at a major insurance company, where she defended clients faced with civil negligence claims that allegedly resulted in personal injury or property damage. Clients expressed that Kayleen was excellent at keeping them informed and were very satisfied with her performance in trial.

Born and raised in Alaska, Kayleen earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. At the University of Alaska Fairbanks, she served in the student government, the honors program advisory council, and volunteered with the admissions department as a tour guide and new student orientation leader. Kayleen was also selected as a legislative delegate for her school, which allowed her to represent the University of Alaska Fairbanks in meetings with the Alaska legislature during the legislative session.

Subsequently, she earned her J.D. from George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School. While at George Mason, she served as Vice President of the Intellectual Property Law Society, Vice President of the Equality Alliance, and Vice President of Events for the Sports and Entertainment Law Association. She volunteered as a tour guide and mentor for newly admitted students. Kayleen interned with the American Psychiatric Association General Counsel and Transportation Security Administration General Counsel, clerked for both a boutique patent prosecution firm and for a small Veteran’s benefits firm. She also participated in two law school clinics focused on intellectual property, entertainment advocacy, and entrepreneurship.

Kayleen has focused her practice on litigation for the entirety of her legal career. Outside of work, Kayleen fosters dogs for a local shelter, bakes too many sweets, and enjoys spending time with her partner.
